Afghanistan
My name is Nelam Nazary, and I come from Nahrin district in Baghlan province, Afghanistan. Ever since I was young, I’ve been passionate about traditional Afghan crafts and embroidery. In 2014, I decided to turn that passion into a purpose—and that's when I founded Nelam Nazary Handicrafts Company. What started as a small idea has grown into a business that now supports 40 women from my local community. Together, we create beautiful handcrafted pieces that reflect our heritage and identity. Our specialties include: Traditional Afghan women’s clothing Beaded embroidery for special occasions Krashnil weaving Custom orders based on customer requests Each product we create is made with care, creativity, and cultural pride. My goals for starting this business have always been simple and strong: To provide work for myself and other women in my village To contribute to the economic development of our country To support our families through sustainable income Joining Aseel has been a turning point for us. Through Aseel, we now have a platform to reach customers not just in Afghanistan, but all over the world. It has opened doors to opportunities we once only dreamed of—allowing our artisans' skills and stories to be seen and valued globally. Thanks to Aseel, our work is no longer hidden in the corners of our village—it's now a part of a global movement to uplift Afghan women through honest, handmade craftsmanship. We are proud to be part of this journey, and we thank every customer who supports us.
