Afghanistan
My name is Shamila Saberi, daughter of Samandar, and I am from Kunduz City, Afghanistan. I completed up to grade 12 and have been working in the field of tailoring for the past five years. I started my journey out of a deep personal interest and a desire to support my household by becoming a productive and contributing member of society. I founded Safa Brand with the dream of creating a space where both skill and purpose come together. Although I do not have a physical shop yet, I run my tailoring operations from home, located in District 2, across from the provincial prison (Mahbas). Currently, I manage a hardworking team of 40 women, who are actively involved in daily production. At Safa Tailoring Workshop, we produce a wide range of handmade items including traditional dresses, embroidered bags, bed covers, pillows, curtains, mattress covers, and beaded and hand-embroidered clothing. Each piece is crafted with care, precision, and pride in our cultural identity. My motivation for creating this brand was to grow professionally, gain job satisfaction, have my work recognized, and take on meaningful responsibility. I believe a successful business thrives on teamwork and strong customer relationships, and I strive to build both every day. By joining Aseel, I look forward to expanding our reach, sharing our craft with a global community, and empowering even more women through dignified work. Thank you for supporting Safa Tailoring Workshop — where every stitch tells a story of resilience, creativity, and community.
