Nargis, a high school graduate, started her journey in tailoring with a vision of improving her community's economy and offering services to people in need. Operating from her home, Nargis has built a productive workspace with five employees, some of whom are learning the craft under her guidance. She has created an environment based on service to others, offering training and job opportunities for women in her community. The name Rastgar, meaning "successful" in Dari, embodies Nargis's mission to create a sustainable business and contribute to local growth. Nargis's business now benefits from her partnership with Aseel, an online platform that helps bring her beautiful, handmade Afghan clothing to international markets. This collaboration allows Rastgar Tailoring to reach Afghans living abroad and customers worldwide, expanding her brand beyond local borders. Thanks to Aseel, Nargis is not only empowering local women but also promoting Afghan craftsmanship on a larger scale. In addition to offering high-quality Afghan clothing, Rastgar Tailoring provides custom-made garments, ensuring that each piece meets the customer's needs. Nargis's business generates an average monthly income of 11,000 to 15,000 Afghanis, with plans to expand her offerings and continue contributing to the economic empowerment of women in her community. Through Aseel, Rastgar Tailoring is poised to grow, bringing more affordable Afghan clothing to international customers while continuing to serve and empower women in Afghanistan.
