Educated up to Grade 8, Shamina learned her tailoring skills from a female instructor 13 years ago, and she has since trained others in her community. Today, she not only creates beautiful garments but also serves as a mentor, helping other women build their skills in tailoring. At Shamen Hamdard Tailoring, she specializes in women’s traditional Afghan clothing of all types, tailoring custom pieces for both special occasions and everyday wear. With help from her small team, she produces high-quality garments that are especially popular during holidays like Eid, when sales peak. On regular days, Shamina earns between 4,000 to 8,000 AFN monthly, making her business a reliable source of income for her family and a valuable service for her community. With the support of Aseel, Shamen Hamdard Tailoring is now poised to reach even more customers—sharing Afghan heritage, handmade fashion, and women-led entrepreneurship with a global audience.
