My name is Faiqa Akbari, daughter of Ishratullah. I am originally from Gharib Abad District in Bamyan Province, but I currently reside and operate my business in Pul-e-Khumri, Baghlan Province. I completed my education up to grade 12 and have been working in the field of tailoring and traditional Afghan handicrafts for the past six years. In the year 1398 (2019), I officially launched my business under the brand Tolo Setarah Shahar Handicrafts Production. With strong motivation to support myself and other women around me, I established a workspace that focuses on creating job opportunities for women and improving household economies through handmade production. Our shop is located in Bakhtar Market, second floor, shop number 151, in Pul-e-Khumri. I currently work with a team of six people, including a dedicated marketer who helps connect our products with customers in nearby districts and beyond. We specialize in traditional Afghani scarves (Gand), leather embroidery (Charma Dozi), beadwork (Mora Dozi), tailored garments, and decorative handmade accessories. These products are crafted with care and cultural significance, using skills I have learned from master artisans, personal effort, and training received through various helpful seminars. Tolo Setarah Shahar is proud to serve both local and international customers. Many of our sales are made through contracts with shopkeepers in the city and surrounding districts, as well as direct orders from clients within Afghanistan and abroad who wish to send authentic handmade gifts to their families. The primary goal of my business is to empower women through employment and to continue growing professionally and economically. By preserving traditional arts and helping women build livelihoods, we aim to be a source of strength and stability in our community. Through Aseel, we are excited to reach a wider audience who appreciates the beauty of Afghan craftsmanship and supports the resilience of women-led businesses.
