With a Grade 10 education, Shazia's love for tailoring started with her desire to help support her family’s economy and contribute to the local community.In 2021, Shazia took the leap into entrepreneurship, launching Toofan Darukhshan Tailoring Center as a small-scale business. Located in Babali Market, Qala-e-Ghayrat village, her workshop specializes in creating traditional Afghan garments, including simple and ceremonial Afghan clothing for both adults and children.Starting with 8 employees, Shazia’s goal has always been to create beautiful clothing while also improving her family’s financial situation. With hard work and determination, Toofan Darukhshan Tailoring Center has become a beacon of quality craftsmanship and a source of pride for her community. Shazia’s journey into tailoring was shaped by local training courses, which helped her develop the skills needed to succeed. Her business now thrives through direct sales to local shops, where her high-quality Afghan garments are available to customers. Through the support of Aseel, Toofan Darukhshan Tailoring Center is now able to expand its reach, sharing Afghan-made clothing with global customers. The partnership with Aseel is helping Shazia bring her expertly crafted garments to a broader market, creating more opportunities for women in her community and empowering them with sustainable employment.
