A Grade 14 graduate, Shireen gained her tailoring skills through personal dedication and community learning, practicing in her home and village before launching her brand. Today, Vedah Tailoring operates from the Damkali area of Asadabad, near Kooz Korona, where she works alongside a team of six women. Vedah Tailoring specializes in a wide variety of traditional Afghan garments, including leather clothing, Punjabi outfits, and Kochi-style dresses. Each piece is handcrafted with cultural detail and tailored to the unique preferences of her customers. The brand was born from Shireen’s ambition to elevate the art of tailoring while also supporting her household. Through Vedah Tailoring, she not only provides for her family but also creates opportunities for other women in her community to grow and earn. Her sales primarily take place through neighborhood networks and local shopkeepers, where her work is appreciated for its craftsmanship and originality. Despite challenges, she remains committed to expanding her reach and giving tailoring a stronger platform in the local economy.
