A powerful earthquake struck eastern Afghanistan killing 1,000, injuring more than 15,000, and disappearing hundreds of more on June 22 of 2022. It has been reported to be the deadliest quake to hit the region in two decades. The natural distaste has added to the acute hardships in Afghanistan a country that has been marked as being the worlds worsening humanitarian and economic crisis. All donations will be providing earthquake relief and recovery efforts in Paktika, sending food, clean water, medicine, and other essential supplies to people in need. Once all immediate needs are met, the funds will transition to support long-term recovery efforts.

Mahab Azizi

Mahab Azizi is a professional photojournalist based in Kabul, Afghanistan. While working as a photography and journalist in Afghanistan he has also started working as a humanitarian. As a photographer, he was given this opportunity of moving around and meeting with people from all corners of Afghanistan. Mahab profession required him to learn of the situation the people he met lived in, share their struggles of day to day life and create campaigns where donations are sent for each individual that is in dire need of international support. After each campaign had come to a cross, Mahab would personally deliver whatever was raised to the rightful owners of thee donations. Mahab’s photography has promoted both awareness and has caught the attention of many around the world who have been sending money to Mahab in hope of supporting the families whose stories have been shared. By posting his work, Mahab’s biggest hope is that the world is able to grasp an understanding of what life truly is like in Afghanistan - the good and the bad.
