The Prophet ﷺ said: “The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity.” (Al-Tirmidhi) The humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan has impacted more than 90% of the population leaving many starving and without food. The month of Ramadan is a blessed month and a month when giving back to our community is greatly encouraged. It is heartbreaking to think about the families in Afghanistan who are suffering and the unimaginable trials they are facing on a daily basis. I am collaborating with Aseel to fundraise for the children and families in Kabul, Afghanistan who are in dire need of a warm meal during this Holy month. Aseel will be providing meals for children and families on the ground. A one-time iftar meal is USD $3, and a family package that will feed one family for three weeks is USD $98.
