Combating the Hunger Crisis and Bringing Hope to Afghan Families
The recent takeover of Afghanistan by the Taliban has exacerbated the country's humanitarian crisis, plunging millions of Afghans in extreme poverty and acute food insecurity. According to recent statistics, 95% of the population in Afghanistan live under the poverty line, and millions suffer from hunger and malnutrition. This critical circumstance puts millions of Afghans in dire need of emergency relief assistance.
As a leading organization providing emergency assistance to Afghans, Aseel Do Good has been actively delivering food and essential supplies to vulnerable communities nationwide. Since November 2022, Aseel has reached out to more than 4000 families and more than 37000 individuals in 25 provinces with emergency humanitarian assistance. Aseel's emergency response packages include Food Packages, Baby Care Packages, Winter Packages, and WAW Food Packages.
Emergency Food Packages Distributions in Kunar Province
One of Aseel's most significant achievements has been the provision of emergency food and Ramadan relief packages. Between November 2022 and March 2023, Aseel distributed 4107 food packages to needy families throughout the country. Additionally, during the holy month of Ramadan, Aseel is expanding its food assistance through Ramadan packages and Iftar Packages. In four provinces, Aseel has already supported over 1000 families with Ramadan and Iftar food assistance.
Emergency Food Packages Distributed to Afghan Women
In addition to food assistance, Aseel has provided other supplies such as 45 baby care packages, 31 child relief packages, eight customized packages, 32 RUSF, 29 cash packages, 193 winter packages, and winter GC packages to people in need in multiple provinces of Afghanistan, making sure the distribution is transparent and accessible to the needy ones.
Despite many challenges, Aseel has managed to reach thousands of the most in-need families and individuals providing them with basic necessities. However, the situation remains critical in the country, and more needs to be done to help those in dire need. Thus, Aseel is dedicated to continuing its work and efforts to support more families. Aseel's work in Afghanistan is a reminder of humanitarian assistance in critical and challenging situations, which requires continuous support from the international community and donors to ensure the aid reaches those most in need.
