My name is Saleha, daughter of Amanullah, and I am the proud founder of Madina Handicraft, based in District 5, Kandahar, Afghanistan. I began my journey into tailoring over 10 years ago when I first learned the craft at home. What started as a personal skill soon turned into a livelihood. I continued practicing at home, and as my work improved, I began training other women alongside me. That’s how Madina Handicraft was born. Today, I manage a team of 6 skilled women. Together, we handcraft traditional Afghan women’s clothing, blending detailed embroidery (like handmade necklines, sleeve cuffs, and raw silk threadwork) with high-quality tailoring. We also produce custom men’s clothing, all made with care and precision. What inspires me is not just creating clothing, but keeping Afghan culture alive — one stitch at a time. Our brand is built on resilience, tradition, and the belief that women can create powerful change through their work. While we don't have a formal storefront, we sell locally from our home in Shormdam, Kandahar, and now, thanks to Aseel, we’re able to connect with customers around the world. Aseel has opened doors for us to grow, earn, and preserve the art of Afghan tailoring on a global platform. Your support means everything.
