About Campaign

According to the UN, 13000 newborn babies have died since January 2022 of malnutrition and hunger-related issues in Afghanistan. On average, that is 176 infants die every day in Afghanistan. Hospital wards are filled with malnourished children; many are weighing at age one what an infant of six months would consider in a developed country, with some "so weak they are unable to move." 95% of the country cannot access sufficient food due to the current crisis. UN says that one million children could die this year if urgent actions are not taken. "Children in the provinces – they are only skin on bones now – and I'm afraid this will only worsen," the director of an international humanitarian organization in Afghanistan told me. Aseel's grand challenge on child relief aims to help 15000 children at risk of malnutrition. I am starting this campaign in collaboration with Aseel to raise funds for this noble cause. Please join me in the mission by making donations and creating your campaigns with Aseel to save lives in Afghanistan. Aseel is an Afghan-owned and Afghan-run emergency response. They have real-time updates about your donations and information about the beneficiaries. Photo: Associated Press
