Dursa

Selling from Afghanishtan

Ambitious founder, Waheed Niawash, started Dursa with an impressive nine years of experience in tow. He spent nearly a decade teaching and managing multiple educational institutions, advising on Moore Afghanistan’s marketing strategy, and developing an e-payment application. Before this, Niawash graduated from Kabul University’s Faculty of Economics and Institute of Management and Accounting. Next, he earned certifications in Electronic Money Institution (EMI) and Institution of Payment (IP) and now he combines business expertise with his artistry skills. Niawash had been a sporadic handicraft hobbyist for many years. In early 2021, he pursued his creative passion by launching Dursa. He hired a team of ten to establish consistent production with equal emphasis on creativity and durability. Due to the team's obsession with craftsmanship, Dursa's handcrafted goods differ from those typically purchased in Afghan markets. Products are divided into three categories: home décor (which includes pillows, curtains, and artwork), fashion accessories (which includes bracelets, handbags, and headpieces), and decorative tableware (which includes plates, bowls, and napkins). Niawash's excellent management skills have kept the business running smoothly. His entrepreneurial skills have proven successful as the business expanded and partnered with Aseel. Initially, fascinated by Aseel’s transparent payment process and end-to-end supply chain, the e-payment app developer quickly integrated the Dursa brand online. Through this partnership, Niawash hopes to first expand sales throughout all provinces of Afghanistan and then worldwide.
